Sandra began her Yoga journey in 2001, while working as a Management Consultant. Early on, she discovered the stillness that can be found on the mat. Years later, while living in India as an expat for three years, Sandra had the opportunity to study with Sri Prasad Rangnekar at YogaPrasad Institute. Under his gentle guidance and teaching, she completed her 200-hour teacher training in 2014 and became certified in classical Hatha Yoga. Though she has moved back to her home in New York, she continues to study under his guidance, making regular trips to India, and in early 2019, she completed a 100-hour Meditation Facilitation Training in Kerala. Sandra has also studied Restorative Yoga with Judith Hanson Lasater, and Anatomy with Jason Ray Brown.
Sandra has come to embrace yoga as the science of self-discovery. Her belief is that sadhana, the practice, is a time to connect with the body, mind, spirit, and the sacred. It is a time to take a pause, and allow discovering that moment ‘in-between’. It is in these moments, that inspiration and insight have the space to speak to us, so that we can gain some clarity without judgment.
Sandra lives with her husband and three daughters in the river towns in Westchester, NY. She guides small group classes and private clients in yoga asana, pranayama and meditation practices. As a teacher, Sandra loves to help create a sacred space for individuals to tap into their inner stillness – a place where they can slow down, move within, and connect with their true spirit.
